Last night, a few hundred residents of Barrie and area got a much needed break from the recent heat wave, as provided by the Barrie Fire And Emergency Service.
The event, that was just around the corner from our studio, at Shear Park, attracted a lot of moms, dads, grandparents, and mostly kids. They enjoyed not only the water spray provided by the boom of a fire truck, but also a plethora of educational and fun events like hose carrying, drop and roll, a water bucket challenge, and others. There were also information booths for both children and adults, and activities like face painting and spin the wheel.
Other city organizations were also involved, like the Barrie Public Library, and Domino's Pizza was onsite giving away slices to hungry visitors.
This is one community event that was simply on fire ;-)
