Barrie Families Unite - The Kindness of Strangers, 2022
The holiday season is the time of year when people dig deep to help those in need. This centuries-old tradition continues as can be seen in this story about how a senior in Barrie was taken advantage of and how local strangers, all women, stepped up to help her so that she could return to her home with her husband who is currently fighting terminal cancer in a specialist facility in British Columbia.
These women joined forces after Kim Roberts, who runs a local house cleaning service, put out a plea for help on Barrie Families Unite. Then we reported on the background of the story through a video found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F26qmG4aRRY and posted it also on Barrie Families Unite. The response was heartwarming and is an excellent example of the reason for the season.
We would like to thank the following sponsors of the Ontario Community Awareness Network.
