Housing for All Rally and March, 2022
On Saturday, June 25, 2022, our production team of Producer John Ironside and Associate Producer, Tiffany Scott, met at the Travel Lodge on Bayfield St. to obtain insight from a group of activists who were there trying to protect about a hundred people who are now facing imminent homelessness.
For more than a year, many of our city's homeless population have been housed in hotels such as the Travel Lodge which was financed through a pandemic-motivated shelter system that was intended to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Now that restrictions are being lifted, the program is being brought to an end, but with no alternative means of a safe shelter being put in place for those who will soon find themselves on the street.
We would like to thank the following sponsors of the Ontario Community Awareness Network. These businesses show they care about our shared community by helping us to provide a not-for-profit truly local voice to you and your neighbours. They also enable our crew to be able to continue providing donated services to promote local benevolent community groups and charities based in The City of Barrie, the Town of Innisfil, and the Township of Oro-Medonte.
