Youth Haven Coldest Night Of The Year - Recut for 2020
Try to imagine being 16 and homeless. Now imagine your son or daughter sleeping under a bridge during the winter, simply trying to survive in a world that has abandoned them.
Youth Haven Canada is, to our knowledge, the only safe place that offers refuge to young adults who are experiencing the worst possible situation. Imagine a reality wherein it is safer and better for a young woman or man to be on the streets than at home. It does not matter if they are facing physical or sexual abuse, or if they are being abused because of who they are. Sometimes 'families' are not what they are supposed to be, and usually it is the smallest and most vulnerable who pay the highest cost.
This coming Saturday, February 22nd, is the Coldest Night of the Year Barrie and we are calling out all parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, siblings, and others to come out and support Youth Haven Canada.
We would like to thank the following sponsors of the Ontario Community Awareness Network. These businesses show they care about our shared community by helping us to provide a locally-focused truly local voice to you and your neighbours. They also enable our crew to be able to continue providing donated services to promote local benevolent community groups and charities based in The City of Barrie, the Town of Innisfil, and the Township of Oro-Medonte.
