Simcoe County - Black Lives Matter Peaceful Protest, 2020
On August 22nd, 2020, a social media group called Simcoe County- Black Lives Matter Peaceful Protest will be holding a rally from 1:00 until 5:00 pm in the Arboretum in Barrie’s Sunnidale Park. This event is intended to bring together the people of Simcoe County, be they White, Black, or People of Colour.
There are several local groups accepting donations and resources on their behalf, and there are Black organizations and initiatives you can support in Simcoe County. These include Making Change SC, UPlift Black - Share. Support. Show Up, Our Mosaic Lives, and Shak's World. Donations can be made by e-transfer to cassandraamanyangole@gmail.com.
The Black Lives Matter movement is not over. Please join this event to listen to their stories and bring unity to all people in Simcoe County.
