Silent Swim to fight Cystic Fibrosis
This 40 year old mother of one has been swimming her entire life, and now she wants to take on two great lakes
Brenda Lussier-Neumueller has a dream, to swim across both Lake Erie and Lake Ontario in order to raise $50,000.00 to help fight Cystic Fibrosis; an ultimately terminal condition that afflicts her brother. We met Brenda in 2014, and we supported her efforts in various ways while she was successful in crossing Lake Erie and partially successful in a crossing of Lake Ontario. Sadly, strong currents in Toronto Harbour forced officials to pull her from the water less than five kilometres from the shore.
Brenda took on those monumental tasks, and she intends to do it again in 2017 regardless of the fact that she is completely deaf, and has been since birth.
