Georgian FoodLocker On-Campus Food Bank
When we were approached by Chris Sheridan, we had never heard of the Georgian FoodLocker Barrie, and we were set on a path to have our eyes opened as to the reality of post-secondary education in the 21st century.
According to their statistics, two out of every four students at Georgian College live at some level of need in regards to buying viable and healthy kinds and quantities of food, and one in four is too proud or afraid to ask for help.
This program, that is run by and mostly financed by students, helps to ensure that those who cannot afford food get what they need so they can concentrate more on their studies than where they will find their next meal.
