Innisfil Pride Paddle A Huge Success, 2020
Pride parades and celebrations have been greatly restricted or postponed during 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. So, some local LBGTQ organizations have become innovative in how they can celebrate their community without violating social distancing regulations.
Innisfil lies on the shore of Lake Simcoe, which is a pretty big body of water. So, some of the members and allies of Innisfil Pride, Jake Tucker, Clay Whitney, Amanda Wattie, and Dawn Mucci, decided to take their parade to the waves through a waterborne party they called Pride Paddle. About 30 people joined the event, bringing with them kayaks, canoes, floaties, and paddleboards. Our the OCANetwork, also known as Five Points Media, production crew, of Producer John Ironside and Associate Producer Tiffany Scott, jumped on board the flotilla and joined in the festivities on a beautiful evening on Cook’s Bay.
