On Thursday, June 28, 2018, a cross-section of Barrie citizens met at the new Meridian Square to express their concerns about the changes in environmental policies being implemented by Premier-designate Doug Ford and his Conservative government. Speakers included Keenan Aylwin and Bonnie North, both Candidates of Record for the Green Party in the most recent provincial election, and Erïch Jacoby-Hawkins of Living Green Barrie, who has also run several times for the Green Party in Barrie.
